CAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT SERVICES

A PROPERLY ALIGNED VEHICLE MEANS EXTENDED TIRE LIFE AND SAFER RIDE.
Have you noticed your steering wheel is off-centered when traveling straight? Or does your steering wheel pull to the left or right? If yes, your car or truck has some alignment problems. Remember, your ability to drive safely is compromised when your car tire alignment is off, or if you have unaligned wheels.

Importance Of Alignment

Basically, alignment is the process of adjusting the angles of your car’s wheels back to its original specifications. Tire rotation and balancing, including car wheel alignment, could improve the total safety of your vehicle, and expand the life of your tires. A properly and effectively aligned car or truck may enhance the vehicle’s performance, and increase a better fuel economy.

Is your vehicle experiencing any of the following signs or symptoms? If so, you need your alignment to be checked:

  • The Steering wheel is not straight or off-centered when driving on a straight roadway
  • The Vehicle might pull or wander to one side (left or right) when driving straight
  • Floorboard and vehicle vibrations at highway speeds or when turning
  • Diminished handling capability
  • Tires wearing out faster
  • Cupped or uneven tire wear (A condition is also known as tire scalloping, this wear pattern appears as dips around the edge of your tire tread)

A vehicle that’s properly aligned:

  • Maximizes your 4 tire life
  • Handles and drives smoothly
  • Achieves better fuel efficiency

Why Take Chances Elsewhere?

To keep suitable control of your vehicle, wheels must be lined up correctly. A car or truck with poor alignment could cause uneven wear on the tires. It can also make driving become difficult. You will experience a smoother ride when your wheels are properly lined up.

At E1 Auto Care, we care about your customer safety & satisfaction. To ensure you get the very best service, we thoroughly make an inspection on your vehicle including your alignment. Generally, proper alignment means all of your wheels are pointed in the same direction. Keeping your alignment in check can extend the life of your tire, add safety to your trip, and make your ride comfortable. If you believe you have an alignment problem, don’t hesitate to let us know by calling or chat with us today.

Basics Of Wheel Alignment:

Camber – The angle of the top and bottom edges of the wheel. Ideally, the angle has to be straight from top to bottom. Think of it as the angle of your legs when your feet are either close together or far apart.

Toe – The turning angle of the wheel (inward or outward slant of your wheels). An incorrect toe angle and premature tire wear may also cause the vehicle to pull on either side of the road when driving straight.

Thrust – This angle compares the alignment of the axles. They should generally be squared off with the vehicle’s centerline.

Caster – It refers to the steering axis’ forward or backward tilt. An incorrect caster angle can cause the vehicle to have unstable cornering. If the driver puts in more steering efforts, it will cause the tires to wear out faster. The correct caster angle must be straight down to improve the cornering balance.

A Vehicle Alignment Inspection Features:

  1. Examination of the tires for size, inflation, and wear
  2. Assessment of the steering and suspension components
  3. Comparison of your tire alignment to automobile manufacturer guidelines

During the inspection, our expert automotive mechanics will do one of three types of alignments:

  • Front-end Alignment – This is the simplest and most basic alignment. The front wheels are adjusted to make them parallel to the centerline of your car.
  • 4-Wheel Alignment – This is applicable for vehicles with adjustment capability at all 4 wheels. It is common on most passenger cars, SUVs, all-wheel drive, front-wheel drive, and crossover vehicles.
  • Thrust Alignment – This is applicable for vehicles with an adjustment capability only available on the front axle (mostly found on SUVs and larger trucks with solid, rear axles).

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

What can affect the wheel alignment?

Normal settling of the suspension, including fatigue of bushings and springs, will slowly change alignment. Some conditions will also push the wheels out of alignments, such as hitting a pothole, rubbing up against a curb, or going over a big bump or debris. Collision with another vehicle, aggressive driving, and bent or worn suspension parts can also trigger misalignment. Adding uneven weight, like carrying heavy tools for an extended period can also affect your vehicle’s alignment.

Is it necessary to get an alignment when I get new tires?

Yes. If you want to get the most mileage from your new tires, we recommend having your car wheel alignment check every other tire rotation and always after the installation of new tires.

How often does alignment need to be checked?

Getting your car alignment checked should be part of your basic car care maintenance schedule. If you fix a misalignment, you can correct your wheel’s positions to prevent premature tire wear. Vehicles usually experience misalignment gradually.

Make it a habit to check your car alignment every 6,000/12,000 miles, or at least once a year or every 6 months. Especially, if you travel roadways that have lots of potholes or after any significant impact with a bumper.
